Astral Bridge
Once an aetheric structure that spanned the airy ravine between the Auric Keep and Valahai, this causeway was obliterated when Yvor’s sacrifice shattered Enion. Yet all it needs is a gemstone key to unlock its power, and the bridge will reach up into the stars.
Caress of the Reaper
Angels and demons, figments of i’Arathael, war in the endless dreams of the Aesir. As mortals slay each other through day and night in the bloodsoaked lands of Rathe, Embras mirror their glories and tragedies, a phantasmagoria of violence played out in a world of imagination made manifest.
Core Reaction
The darkness reached out from the other side, reeking of corruption, and smote Oscilio. His aetheric field disintegrated and pieces of him rained down upon the island below. Aurora screamed, and raced to stand among the shattered fragments of Oscilio’s shell. The glow of his energy core was fading. Time was running out.
Corrosive Space Dust
“Unlike the Aesirs, the Old Ones were not of Rathe. To this day, no one knows where they came from. And after the cataclysm, we Aetherscribes are not entirely sure where they went. Be they alive or dead, in Rathe or i’Arathael, their corruption is plain to see, written in the stars of the Nebulus Rift.” - Zyggy Starlight
Flicker Reality
“You have experienced but one reality, so I quite understand how mind-shattering it must be to learn there are three. The Ancients saw to that, their cataclysm thrice fragmenting the world of their time. Rathe, the Nebulus Rift, and i’Arathael, triplets born in the Third Age. Three realities, and all of them in terrible danger.” - Zyggy Starlight
Mercurial Skies
Zyggy beckoned Aurora and Oscilio to follow them through the portal. They found themselves upon the astral currents of the Nebulus Rift where roads of starlight snaked through an aetheric skyscape. Curtains of brilliant color mottled by clouds of cosmic dust. Rainbow hues sparkled from crystalline islands. “This is a possibility space,” explained the Aetherscribe, “where magic and material are one.”
Ominous Aggression
Across Rathe the omens appeared, mysterious symbols from another world, messengers of ill fortune. Each promised its own special flavor of sin. And for those upon which the signs cast their baleful hue, the best of intentions were transfigured into the foulest of deeds.
Ominous Excavation
Karl’s graverobbers felt the hatred as soon as they opened the coffin. Where they expected the sickly-sweet scent of decay, they were assaulted by the sulfuric reek of pure rage. The baron’s corpse had been twisted by a life of bitter anger, and his withered heart had been consumed by wrath. Karl didn’t remember much after that, only that he awoke in an open grave, soaked in the blood of his comrades.
Ominous Respite
“People will ignore every warning sign in abundant times. Blind to the urgency around them, they will choose the comforts of the day over premonitions of a darker future, believing things will work themselves out, just as they always have. But we Seers have studied the legends of the Old Ones and have foreseen their return, as clear as these omens in the sky. Life in Rathe is about to change.” - Maela Isulfv
